Update 9/4/2020 am

Infinet Cloud Payroll update bundle now contains automated creation of this sub type. The update will take about 10 minutes and can be pushed at any time. Please email support@infinetcloud.com to request update 20.1.02-JK . This update also includes automated creation of sub types for JobKeeper payments (with and without Super)

Leave requests can then be created manually or in bulk using Leave Blocks. See Creating a Leave Block

An AU employer may Stand Down an employee during a period in which the employee cannot usefully be employed because of a number of circumstances including:

  • industrial action (other than industrial action organised or engaged in by the employer)
  • a breakdown of machinery or equipment, if the employer cannot reasonably be held responsible for the breakdown, or
  • a stoppage of work for any cause for which the employer cannot reasonably be held responsible (e.g. COVID-19)

Step-by-step guide

The following instructions detail how to configure a Stand Down leave type in your account.

Please note this leave type is unpaid, but the employee will continue to accrue leave e.g. annual, personal and long service leave at normal rates.

  1. Go to Payroll Administration > Payroll Setup > Pay Component Sub Type
  2. Locate 'Compassionate Leave-Paid', and click View next to it
  3. Go to Actions > Make Copy
  4. Set the Name to "Stand Down Leave" or similar
  5. Set the Rate to 0
  6. Set the OTE Rate to 0
  7. Untick OTE
  8. Click Save

You can then create Leave Requests for your employees using this new "Stand Down Leave" Pay Component Sub Type.
